Perfect Day for the Park!

This is actually what is looked like outside when we woke up yesterday morning. Kind of amazing but also kind of gloomy! Leave it to Utah to be a totally different day in a matter of hours!
Another shot of the mystic morning from our backyard.
Ah, and then came the sunshine! It was a gorgeous afternoon so we had to go and play at the park. Nicole and Miley Hunter came to play with us along with Crew's favorite aunt Katherine. Crew is a big fan of the swings so that is where you can usually find him at the park.
Matt also stopped by on a break from work. A cute sibling shot!

This is Nicole and Miley. Miley is also a big fan of the swings!
Crew also enjoys the slides. He looks like such a big boy as he roams the playground and slides down all by himself. He is so coordinated for such a little guy!
Crew and Miley swinging
Crew is pointing at a dog but a great shot with Kath.
Since Katherine is the favorite we needed to include this one too! We really need to convince her to finish out her school at USC with us because we are going to miss her!

Utah's Hogle Zoo

Since we know our days are winding down here in Utah, we have created a list of things we want to do before we go. Today we did one of those things and spent our morning at Utah's Hogle Zoo! What a fun day! The weather was perfect and the zoo was really fun. It isn't a really big zoo but the animals are really close. I have to give a little disclaimer, Crew will not wear hats so we had to lather sunscreen on him. So if his hair looks greasy that is why!
Crew is at a pretty good age for the zoo. Even though he can't tell you all the animal names, he can make most of their sounds. Of course, he is really good at monkey sounds!
This is the white alligator! Creepy!

By the elephant exhibit they have a giant elephant statue. It was a lot to take in as you can tell.

We had to get a shot by the cougars!
Those of you who knew Matt growing up know about his love for penguins! For some reason he has always been a big penguin fan but I have to agree they were one of my favorite animals today! They are such a funny animal.

No this is not at the zoo. Matt is currently making a surf board in our storage closet. He has his little section zoned off and even has a very attractive jump suit that he wears while he is at work. I must admit, it is actually pretty impressive what he is creating. We will keep you up on its progress.

What a funny boy!

Last week had a few decent days so we did a little yard work. Crew was a great helper and loved the sprinklers! The only problem was that it was still only in the 60's with a little wind so after about 10 minutes the poor kid was shaking he was so cold! But he loved it!
For some reason Crew loves to climb under or inside of things. His latest favorite... his dump truck. He looks hillarious in it! It reminds me of a MarioKart character. But he loves us to push him around in it.
A front viewPart two of this blog is my cousin Joseph's wedding. We got to go up to Layton last Monday for my cousin's wedding. He married a girl from Mexico and although the circumstances were not ideal, it was a nice day. This is Crew on my aunt's stairs.

The biggest highlight of the trip for Crew was having grandma there. I swear, the kid had only a 30 minute nap that day and we didn't leave until 7:30, but he was really good because he had his grandma around. He loves her!
This is my grandma (my mom's mom) with us. She is such a sweet lady and it was so fun to see her too.

What a sweet face!

Where are all the Tulips?

Last weekend my parents came into town. We were so excited to take them to Thanksgiving Point to the Tulip Festival and had told them how beautiful it was. So Friday morning we arrived at the gardens but because it has been so stinking cold, only 20% of the flowers had bloosomed! It was still a pretty day and fun to roam the gardens but as you can tell, spring still looked a few weeks away. Oh well!

We had to take some pictures by some of the few tulips that had come up.

If you follow the Richter grand children, you know that my nephew Carson just adores my dad. So from the start mom has been working on making sure she was Crew's favorite and all the hard work has paid off. Crew loves my mom and although he still likes grandpa, he is grandma's boy.
Crew is at a fun age right now too because he gets really excited about things. He loved the waterfalls!

I love my little man!
Crew and Grandpa. To any of you who are in Utah or are coming up soon, you really should go see the gardens sometime. This was last year. Amazing huh!

Another pic from last year. Crew is so little! Anyway, we still had a great weekend with my parents and already miss them!

Finally a taste of Spring!

The past few days have been so nice and we have loved it! Of course today is back to crazy Utah weather but last Saturday was the BYU football Blue and White game. We went for just a little while but it felt great to be outside in the sun!

Catching Up

Here are just a few pictures to let you know what has been going on over the past couple weeks...

Two weeks ago, Crew and his buddy Andi , went to the Kangaroo Zoo in Pleasant Grove. Crew spent more time just running around all the blow-up toys and eating fishes than going on anything but it was still a fun day. This is Andi and Crew during a snack break.

We got to spend a whole afternoon with the Brutsch's not too long ago and this picture cracks me up! Our little fuzzy headed and white naked boys are too cute. Cason's belly is cute too!

Last Tuesday we got to play with Cason for a couple hours in the morning while Lauren went to an appointment. Crew was nice enough to share his castle with Cason and I love that they both have toothbrushes in hand. What funny boys.

Ok, now for conference weekend. We were so excited to have Brandon, Kendria and Deacon Holyoak come and stay with us for the weekend. Brandon and Matt served together in Samoa and it is so funny that Brandon and I grew up just a street away! Deacon is hillarious and we really enjoyed having them with us. This picture is from Saturday morning session. Deacon, who is 8 months old, was playing with our friends the Hunter's little girl Miley, who is 9 months old. I guess Crew thought he was too cool or too old to play with them so he was just observing from behind. They all got along great though.

Crew has discovered bubbles and loves them! So now every bath is a bubble bath and he just can't get enough of them!

Now for bubbles on land. Matt parents were up this week too and Grandpa brought bubbles. Crew is swatting at them with a spatula and whenever he is getting cranky I just bust out the bubbles and he is instantly happy!

It was so fun to have Dave and Becky up for the week. Crew just adores them and we miss them already!

Happy Easter

Happy Easter! Crew has actually been finding Easter Eggs since Hawaii but it was a great day to be outside! Katherine hid the eggs well but Crew still found them.

Crew's Easter shirt is still a little big (I swear he is always between sizes at the hollidays) but he still looked cute!
We went up to my aunt in Riverton's to visit that night. Crew loved their trampoline.
