San Diego

Last Thrusday Crew and I flew down to San Diego for the BYU vs. SDSU football game. The first day there was absolutley beautiful so thank goodness we were able to get some serious shopping done at the outlets! Unfortunately the next day it rained so hard all day! It was cold too! But we still were able to have a great time. My sister Maren lives in San Diego so my parents also flew up. Crew was a bit of a crank most the weekend since he was getting over the flu (at least that is my excuse for him). But here are a few pictures of our trip.

Crew and I visited Coronado Friday night so that we could see Matt. He was staying there with the team so it was fun to see him. Of course Crew was perfect for his dad. Why is that?

Grandpa, Crew and Carson having a little bonding time on the couch. Carson is really expressive when he says cheese.
Again "cheese," I think this may have been the only time all weekend that Crew would let Carson that close to him. What a fus!
So Maren had sitters for the game but during the second quarter I could tell the girls were working way too hard for the money so grandpa and I went and picked him up to bring him for the second half of the game. He actually did pretty well (probably because he knew Matt was close) and even did touchdowns with his arm. This was the "Go cougars!" part at the end of the fight song.
All of Matt's siblings and there husbands came to the game. This is all the girls in the family. Crew is one loved little boy!
Crew and Grandpa Allen after the game

What did I say, he loves his daddy!

Going out in Style!

Saturday was a perfect day to wrap up a weekend of gratitude. Yes, BYU did beat Utah, but that was just the icing on the cake. The experiences we have had the past four years at BYU have truly blessed our lives and being in LaVell Edwards Stadium for the last time cheering on Matt was a day I will never forget.

It is not always easy sharing your husband with thousands of fans but it has been fun to have so many people love someone you love!
The game, as expected, was intense and the win came down to under a minute! BYU pulled out a win and the stadium went crazy! We were already down on the field because of senior day but it was so cool to watch the stands around us pour onto the field. My parents, Matt's parents and his sister Katherine were all there to celebrate and even Crew came at the end. (Thanks Tyler and Rebecca for all your help this season!)
With this win, BYU won the Mountain West Conference Chamionship and now we are just waiting to hear what bowl game we go to. The scene was a little much for Crew but Cosmo seemed to calm him down a bit!
It was a wonderful way to end his football experience at BYU. We will really miss this next year but are so grateful for the people we have met and the memories we have made. Go Cougars!

Christmas Tree Adventure

So Christmas is coming early in the Allen home because the weekend we usually cut down our Christmas tree is the weekend the San Diego State game was rescheduled for. So the Brutsch's were kind enough to hold our annual tree cutting adventure a few weeks earlier. This year was so much different than the three prior years we've down this, mostly because there wasn't snow up to our waistes, but this turned out to be a good thing with the little guys.
We stomped around in the woods for a while but within a hour or so we both found our perfect trees and the festivities began! This has been such a fun tradition and we have to thank Ben and Lauren for getting it started! Cason and Crew had a blast and Crew loved walking around and picking up sticks. He is such a mountain man! Hopefully wherever we end up next year we can keep this alive. Thanks Brutsch's!

Thanks Brutsch's for a fun and festive day!

Grandmas and Grandpas

Crew was spoiled this week and had both his grand parents up to visit. He seriously goes through withdrawl when they leave because mom's boring and he loves attention! Luckily they will still see him a lot over the next month!

I just really love this picture!

Happy Halloween!

Here are a few more cute pictures of Eeyore from Halloween. It was a low key holiday this year since Matt didn't get home until 8:30 that night, but Crew still got to show off his costume for the football coaches and our ward. He also really likes leaves!

Oh Sundays

Oh Sundays are long days! We have church at 9 and Crew has gotten to the stage where he doesn't really fall asleep at places other than his bed. So when Crew and I got home from church I needed to change his diaper before putting him down for a nap. I laid him on the ground and the poor kid was so tired he fell asleep while I was changing his pants! It was pretty funny.

Pumpkin Carving

On Saturday we headed over to our friends the Brutsch's for so pumpkin carving. We discovered that it takes a lot longer to carve pumpkins when you have kids but fun too. Lauren as always was a great host with Wassail and carmeled apples so thanks Brutsch's for a fun day!

The Brutsch's also have some stairs and Crew loves stairs! He and Matt got their exercise while I carved my pumpkin.
We also had a few Halloween parties to stop at that night so we got dressed up. Crew is Eeyore and acutally fit that personality that night. We went to two places in 30 mintues and then came home and put little Eeyore to bed. Good thing he looked so cute! Hopefully we can get some better pictures on Wednesday.

Some of our favs!

Here are some pictures of Crew that will always be my favorite!

We loved having Christian and Katherine here at BYU and although Christian is now serving in Taiwan, we are so happy to still have Katherine close!
We couldn't miss this photo op!
Crew and Grandpa Richter walked around the indoor track about twenty times to keep Crew happy during Matt's graduation! Let's just say they became pals really quick!
Crew loves Grandma Allen too!
During footbal camp I put a tent up in our front room to help me stay sane while Matt was so busy. We had our own camp and he loved it!
Hooray for bathtime!
