Blueberries

Last Friday was unexpectantly cool and wet. A special treat for the end of May! Around four the skies started clearing so the boys and I went to check out the the blueberry farm down the road. It was fantastic!

Hot Air Balloons

One of my most favorite things about Temecula are the morning hot air balloons. Most mornings there are at least five or six out and even though we have almost been here a year, I still get so excited every morning to see them. Such a great way to start the day!

Last week was Crew's Preschool Graduation. Sniff, sniff! One cute grad if you ask me!
 His little class.
Crew's teacher, Miss Tammy, is absolutely amazing. I just hope he is not too bored in Kindergarten. Graham wanted to be part of the action too. He also loves Miss Tammy.

And we better finish off the post with a couple baseball pics. Crew has loved playing and with only one game to go I also have to admit that other than keeping track of Graham at the games this has really been fun.

Solar Eclipse

One evening we were sitting down eating dinner and Bruce heard us laughing. We love having this cute face pop through the fence every now and then.

And of course he gets smothered with attention every time he does.
Last Saturday we had a busy day. I was gone all morning with the young women,  then it was off to Crew's baseball game and then a little party for our neighbors. Crew decided that we needed to end the day doing something fun as a family so we hit up some goofy golfing. It was perfect.

Sunday evening we headed to the end of our cul-de-sac to experience the solar eclipse and get the rest of our Sunday energy out. Fantastic way to spend the evening.

This was our little experimental project we made to help us see the eclipse.

Monday morning the boys both woke up feeling pretty yucky because of their colds. We had a mellow day with lots of bonding time. I love capturing moments like this.

An Update

A few weeks ago the local little league teams got to go out on our local AA baseball field before the game. Crew was very excited. He wears his hat so low all you can see is the big grin.

The cutest spectators in Storm Stadium

On May 5th I did my first triathlon! Well, it was a super sprint triathlon but it still counts. Our Elder's Quorum put on a "Tin Man" race which was comprised of a mile run, 3 mile bike ride, and 200 meter swim. Matt and I both competed and it was really fun! Crew was so impressed that I got first in the women's division. Its about time I get some respect around here ;) Matt competed with a slightly disfucntional bike which may have costed him the gold but he still managed to come in second. After our race Matt and I went to the pool without our kids to celebrate our anniversary. Can you believe it has been 8 years? It was fantastic date!
Last Monday evening, Graham split his chin open in the bathroom. I am getting better at handling these situations. My strategy is- Stay calm, stop the bleeding and then assess the wound. Sadly, this one needed more than a kiss. So we picked Matt up at work and after a little trip to the ER he came home with some dermabond on his chin.
Unfortunately, the dermabond didn't last through the next day. I'm pretty sure it became easier to pick off because he soaked it with drool despite all my attempts to keep it dry. So, the boys and I headed back to Urgent Care. In hindsight, I wish they would have stitched the poor kid because it has not healed so well but oh well. Chicks dig scars right?
 Crazy boy
And Mother's day. Breakfast, chocolates... fantastic! Crew and Matt picked some flowers while they were camping for Father Sons this weekend and made this sweet card. That husband of mine is definitely a keeper!

Just because....

Here are just a few other pics from the last couple weeks. Love these boys
And check out the size of this strawberry! It was seriously the size of 8 normal strawberries and Crew couldn't even eat it all.
G thought his was pretty "uge!" too (like huge without the H)

The Coronado Del

My dad had a conference at the Del a couple weekends ago and my parents were kind enough to let my sister's family and us tag along for one night. It was definitely a fun weekend! Sadly, the weather was pretty overcast and chilly but that didn't stop us from having lots of fun! I have walked around the grounds at the Del many times but staying there let us have the needed access to really explore. What a cool spot!
The beach there is also fantastic. Even on a sunless day.

The boys also found tons of sand dollars on the beach the next morning.
And how lucky were we that there was a car show just down the street.

Oh yes, and this sweet little boy was so fun to be with too.
Thanks mom and dad!
