Easter

I really enjoyed Easter this year for a number of reasons. First, I had to give a talk in Sacrament meeting and despite the pit in my stomach all morning I really did enjoy having the opportunity to really study and ponder the life of my Savior. Second, having just had a lot of company, we spent the entire afternoon just relaxing and enjoyed some quality time together as a family. Third, I just can't get enough of my boys dressed up in their Sunday best. I know I am biased, but they are so stinking cute to me! We had to be at church by 8:30 for choir practice so our morning was a little rushed. But we still had time for Easter baskets.
I always loved how my mom wrapped our Easter baskets in cellophane. The tradition carries on.

Again, we were pressed for time but I had to take some quick shots of my boys before church.

After church the boys were restless and Matt changed way too fast but he volunteered to take a few quick pics of the boys and I. Not an easy task

We did have to have at least a couple egg hunts in the backyard and spent an hour or so playing games at the park. It was a great day. Oh let's not forget making time to enjoy some Easter treats. Today we had some monster thunderstorms so we decided to make some cookies this afternoon. Crew is now my master cookie maker. They really were the best cookies ever!

Spring Break Part II- The Allens

Could life get any better than having both your grand parents come to visit within a week? My boys sure don't think so! Dave and Becky came out on Wednesday to spend a few days with us. Once again, my kids were in heaven. Here they are out front waiting for them to pull up. Crew in his tree...
And precious Graham. Actually, he exhausts me but he is very cute.

Thursday morning we took Grandma and Grandpa to see Old Town.

Matt headed off to work and the rest of us went miniture golfing

Then it was time to rest before heading out to dinner Friday the kids and I went with Dave and Becky to the beach. It was a sunny day but a bit breezy. Still great to be on the beach. Looking through the cracks in the pier

Watching the surfers

After a lot of craziness, we managed to catch the Coaster for a little round trip down the coast. Very fun!

And we finished the day back at home with an Egg hunt.

Obviously excited about the loot.
It was so wonderful to have Grandma and Grandpa Allen stay with us and were all completely exhausted from all the fun! I need school to start again so we can catch up!

Spring Break with the Richters

We just finished two weeks of spring break. Can you believe it? Two Weeks! We stayed very busy though with lots of fun with special visitors. The first few days we dog sat our neighbor dog Bruce. My boys LOVED it! I really do love animals, especially Bruce, but I was glad when our doggy duties were over. It was really fun though.
My parents came into town for conference weekend. They never stay long so we always pack in the fun. They stayed at Maren's Friday night so we met them Saturday morning at some Strawberry fields near our home. Everyone loved it!

Graham asked for a picture with the tractor

Isn't it so cool how they grow these strawberries?

We picked $16 worth of strawberries and ummm were they fantastic! We they hit up a tasty diner nearby and then spent the rest of our day playing in between conference sessions. My boys LOVED having grandma and grandpa all to themselves.

Sunday we headed down to Maren's for our little family Easter party. Of course, all the kids were together which means the yellow suitcase comes out in all its glory... just look at the look on Crew's face!

My parents blow me away with all the fun they are able to create. There were traditional things like egg dying

Maren with crazy Parker and precious Drew

And of course an egg hunt

But then they come up with things like "peep" ball which of course was a smashing hit:)

And what Easter party would be complete without a bunny hop race

These were some very happy but crazy bunnies! Around 4, my parents headed to the airport and the boys and I headed home, completely wasted!

Monday Maren and her boys came up for the day. It was a beautiful day so we thought we should go "exploring." It was a hit. Look at these boys all lined up in a row.

We had lunch and played around the house before they headed back home. Then it was time for us to get ready for round two of visitors. The Allens came later that week so stay tuned for pics of their fantastic visit!
