3-0

I had my 30th birthday a couple of weeks ago and it was really a great day. Matt and the boys made me a birthday video with all kinds of laughs and surprises. I had lots of love from family and friends and Matt's mom came into town that afternoon. I had to have at least one picture of me the day I turned 30 so Crew snuggled up while I shot a picture of the two of us:)
Graham has a lot of personality and we often see many sides of him throughout the day!
Saturday morning we had Crew's soccer game and that afternoon we went for a little "hike." It was actually very flat but we still enjoyed being outside and it was a beautiful day!

Sunday I was kind of in-and-out thanks to stake meetings but we did have a delicious dinner and took a great walk that evening.
It is always nice to get out any extra energy from the day :)
Here's to another great year!

Sending Out My 20's

In one week I leave my 20's behind. Something that I am totally fine with but I do enjoy any excuse to do something special. So, as an early birthday present, my parents came out to stay with the boys while Matt and I had a little getaway. Fantastic present right? I'm pretty sure my boys thought so because they didn't seem to miss us at all (which is usually the case with grand parents!)  We got Crew off to school and then left around 10 Friday morning. My parents took Graham to his favorite place in Temecula, the duck pond.

Crew got to have a turn taking home his class stuffed animal "Woolfy" Very exciting for this boy. The rest of my parents time with the boys consisted of an afternoon with cousins in San Diego, a trip to the local pumpkin patch, healthy meals at McDonalds, the beloved dollar store, and lots of fun and treats!

Graham and Drew spent some quality time together chowing down on some powdered donuts
Do you see Graham, seriously? Who needs ketchup?

Matt and I on the other hand headed back up to L.A. After a stop in Santa Monica we visited the Getty Villa, ate at my most favorite restaurant Rock Sugar, and just enjoyed the company.

After a morning run and bike riding along the coast, Matt and I slowly made our way back home (seriously slow thanks to L.A. traffic!) It was quick but perfect. So long 20's!

Julian Apples

We had an entire afternoon and evening free a couple of Saturdays ago so we called up our friends the Everett's and drove over to Julian for some apple picking. It was a fantastic afternoon!

The apples do not compare to Utah's but it was a fun afternoon and gave me a little taste of fall. After we picked all our apples we went into town for a light dinner and some amazing pumpkin apple crumble pie. Seriously amazing!
Another highlight of September is the Primary Program. I love this day. My absolute favorite! Crew was darling to watch and next year will be twice the fun because Graham will be up there with him! (But it should be noted that Graham sang along with all the songs this year too)

And one more side note, I got a new calling. I am now the secretary for the Stake Young Women's Program. I am sad I will not get to spend as much time with my girls but am thankful to still be a part of this amazing program!

It's All About Crew

Crew is feeling pretty good about life right now and it is pretty easy to see why. First of all, he loves school and continues to receive a lot of positive attention. The entire school gathers for Flag Fridays once a month and Crew was one of the Kindergartners recognized at the first ceremony. He was totally surprised but loved all the attention. It was fun to surprise him there and capture all the smiles.
Look at that face. So proud :)
Here is Crew with his teacher Mrs. Johnston
Second, it is also soccer season again and what a difference a year makes. Crew was pretty good last year. This year he is killing it. It is kind of embarrassing. Last week he scored 6 goals and I think the least he has scored in a game is three goals. But he is a great teammate and always cheers on his team which makes his dominance on the field a little easier to handle.
A kid on the other team tripped him just after he kicked the ball into the goal. Pretty fun shot though!
 Love the celebrations
 Nice stop!
A few other fun little soccer notes: The first couple games were pretty toasty and my favorite quote of Crew's during one game was "mom, do I have the hot drips on my face?" Crew's team name is the Dangerous Dolphins (fierce huh?) and after every game we got to 7/11 for Slurpee's to celebrate the goals. We love soccer season!
