Christmas

I do need to do a post on Christmas because we really had such a wonderful holiday even though we weren't able to go home. Here is a picture of Matt and Crew the Sunday before Christmas in their matching blazers. I know, Crew's hair! It seriously is impossible!
We also made a gingerbread house one night with Crew. He absolutely loved it and Matt and I let him take full control. It actually turned out pretty cute considering.
Christmas Eve Day we spent a couple hours at the park enjoying a beautiful day. Crew was in heaven and it was a great way to spend the day.

That night, we did Christmas Eve with the Crabb family in our ward. It was so much fun! This is Sara and Chris with Crew and our neighbor Charlotte whose family also joined in the festivities. Sara has been the primary chorister and since Crew has been coming to primary since I was called in there last May, he and Sara have become good friends!
Sis. Crabb is the greatest. She had a present for all of us and made us feel so welcome!

One of the best parts of the evening was the chime ringing. We all had our own chimes and we played Christmas songs with them which was a huge hit with Crew. President Crabb also busted out his guitar and we all sang along to our favorite carols. Crew was hilarious because he brought Matt's ukulele and played along and sang all the songs too. This kid seriously knows every Christmas song and sings them at the top of his lungs! I guess starting listening to Christmas music in right after Halloween gave him plenty of time to learn them all!
Christmas was so fun with Crew since he was totally into it all. He put out Santa's cookies before bed and was very excited for the morning.

The Buzz lightyear shoes he has been wanting. Oh, Santa and grand parents were so good to him this year!
Crew did get to eat his house three days later!

Christmas day we went down to Huntington beach in the afternoon and had Christmas dinner with the Cirac's family. Dinner was so good and the company was even better! We went down and had a fire on the beach that night. Here is Allison and I with our kiddos.
The Ciracs and Allens. Yes, Crew is poking sticks in the fire. He loved that.

Cody taught Matt how to delay the shutter so they had a little fun with the fire and camera.

We are so blessed to have such great friends around us to take us in like family. We had a great Christmas and thank you to everyone who made not being home for Christmas still great!
